ArcherPoint Dynamics NAV Developer Digest - vol 230![ArcherPoint's Developer Digest Weekly Blog]()
The NAV community, including the ArcherPoint technical staff, is made up of developers, project managers, and consultants who are constantly communicating, with the common goal of sharing helpful information with one another to help customers be more successful.
As they run into issues and questions, find the answers, and make new discoveries, they post them on blogs, forums, social media...so everyone can benefit. We in Marketing watch these interactions and never cease to be amazed by the creativity, dedication, and brainpower we’re so fortunate to have in this community—so we thought, wouldn’t it be great to share this great information with everyone who might not have the time to check out the multitude of resources out there? So, the ArcherPoint Microsoft Dynamics NAV Developer Digest was born. Each week, we present a collection of thoughts and findings from NAV experts and devotees around the world. We hope these insights will benefit you, too.

Personalization Data in Dynamics NAV
Constantine is working with a client on NAV 2009 who is trying to rearrange columns on routing lines, but the columns will not stay in the custom order once NAV is closed. They go back to the original order.
Michael offers: “Personalization data is stored in three places:
- %AppData%\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\PersonalizationStore.xml - preferences such as window sizes, column sizes - could be affected by Group Policy or Windows Roaming Profiles (where files get deleted and must be recreated by NAV)
- Table 2000000074 Profile Metadata - stores config data when RTC launched with -configure parameter - stored as XML in Blob field - perhaps permissions is an issue
- Table 2000000075 User Metadata - stores config data from "Customize this page" - stored as XML in Blob field - perhaps permissions are an issue.
Hope this helps.”
Matt T also reminds us, “Don't forget about the zup file if it is the classic client.”
